Rubbishing allegations that he favoured the Tatas during the 2002 disinvestment of VSNL, former Disinvestment Minister Arun Shourie today said that Kapil Sibal has ordered a probe into an issue which is under Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's domain.
He also said that Tata's are being blamed possibly because of a corporate warfare.
Shourie said, This is a much inconceived move of the Telecom Minister because he has perverted the facts. The shareholders agreements and clauses prohibit the winning bidder in this case the Tatas to do anything with the land. If the demerger has not taken place, as Tatas have been writing to the government and it has not been able to make up its mind. That is for this government to answer, what has it been doing for six years?
