American Suzuki Recalls ATVs: Engines Can Stall When You're Riding

suzuki recalls ATVsAmerican Suzuki Motor Corp. recalled about 1,350 of its QuadSport all-terrain vehicles because their engines can stall, putting riders at risk of a crash, said the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

So far no one has been hurt, CPSC said. The ATV's circuit board apparently can fail, causing the engine to stall because of too low a battery charge. American Suzuki received 11 reports of the circuit board failing.

Included in the recall are all 2009 LTZ400 and LT-Z400Z QuadSport ATVs. The words "QuadSport" and the model number are on the front left fender.

The ATVs were sold at Suzuki dealers nationwide from September 2008 through February 2011 for $6,500 to $6,700.

Consumers should not use the ATVs, but contact their Suzuki ATV dealer for a free repair. Call Suzuki at (800) 444-5077 weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.

Just last week American Suzuki recalled about 29,000 KingQuad ATVs because the plastic fuel tanks were not made properly and could leak.
